Weston Bakeries is closing its doors in Regina and moving to Winnipeg, leaving 40 employees out of work.
Company president Geoff Wilson says the new facility in Winnipeg has a higher production capacity and is more efficient than the one in Regina.
The Regina facility, located in the city’s warehouse district, is slated to close in a few months.
Weston says it is offering severance packages to the employees.
