NDP's Erin Weir wins Regina-Lewvan riding by 143 votes

After a tight race, the NDP’s Erin Weir has won the new Regina-Lewvan riding by a narrow margin.

Weir beat out Conservative candidate Trent Fraser, the Liberals’ Louis Browne and the Green Party’s Tamela Friesen.

At 35.2 per cent, Weir beat Fraser by only 143 votes. Browne was third with 27.5 per cent, followed by Friesen with 1.8 per cent.

The new Regina-Lewvan riding emerged from the redrawing of boundaries in 2012.
