A financial institution in Choiceland was damaged extensively after a stolen vehicle rammed into the side of the building, police say.

Police responded to an alarm going off at the institution in the early morning of Sept. 13. Surveillance footage showed a male suspect going into the lobby after the vehicle caused damage. He tried to damage the ATM, but took off on foot without getting anything, according to a police release.

Three days later, police responded to a separate early morning incident where an alarm sounded in a financial institution in White Fox.

Surveillance footage showed a stolen truck backing into the lobby of the building, where a suspect secured the ATM to the truck and forcefully removed it before taking off.

The inside and outside of the building were extensively damaged, and the truck used had been stolen from a dealership in Nipawin.

The stolen vehicle is described as a 2018 white Dodge Ram with Saskatchewan license plate 8u19 KXE.

The suspect in both incidents was wearing a light coloured sweater with a small logo on the upper left side, dark pants and gloves.

Anyone with information on these incidents is asked to contact Nipawin RCMP at 306-862-6270 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
