License plate stickers will soon be a thing of the past in Saskatchewan.
Starting Nov. 1, Saskatchewan Government Insurance will no longer issue the stickers.
Getting rid of the stickers will save $100,000 annually, says Donna Harpauer, the minister responsible for SGI.
Harpauer says the stickers no longer serve a purpose, as police now use license plate recognition equipment.
Over the next year, customers will receive blank stickers upon renewing their registration to cover existing stickers.
