Thousands of SaskTel customers were left in the lurch Tuesday but, this time, it wasn't because of cellular service problems.

SaskTel Max customers across the province turned on their TVs to find they could only watch the channel that was on when they last tuned in.

Those who tried rebooting their Max boxes were unable to access the service.

The Crown corporation has apologized to customers, saying the problem stemmed from some sort of software issue.

SaskTel was able to restore service by by about 8 p.m. Tuesday.
