Mike Gibson has resigned as head coach of the University of Regina Rams after only one season to accept a coaching job with the Edmonton Eskimos.
Gibson joins the Eskimos as the team’s offensive line coach and run game coordinator, the CFL club announced Sunday.
Before serving as head coach of the Rams, Gibson was the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach for the Ottawa Redblacks. Prior to that, he spent three seasons with the Calgary Stampeders, first as running backs coach, then as the offensive line coach. His coaching resume also includes two-season stints with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Saskatchewan Roughriders, and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
In addition to over a decade of CFL coaching experience, Gibson also brings more than 20 years of NCAA experience at the Division 1 level.
