Wind chill warnings were issued for most of eastern Saskatchewan, including Regina, on Wednesday morning.
Temperatures around -30C combined with winds gusting up to 20 kilometres an hour. With the wind chill, it felt as cold as -45C.
Wind chill warnings were in effect until just after 10:30 a.m.
The extreme cold weather prompted bus cancellations for Luther College High School, École Monseigneur de Laval and Pavillon secondaire des Quatre-Vents in Regina. Buses also weren’t running for Standing Buffalo School in the Fort Qu’Appelle area.
