A car found submerged in Wascana Lake has been removed from the water and confirmed empty by Regina police.
Emergency crews were dispatched, along with a police dive team, to the area near the HMCS Queen building Wednesday morning.
Someone had reported seeing tire tracks leading to the edge of the lake.
The area was cordoned off while police investigated.
After searching the vehicle and area where it was submerged, police say they are satisfied that the car was empty when it entered the water.
Investigators will now contact the vehicle’s registered owner to try and determine how the vehicle ended up in the lake.
Anyone with information that could assist police with this case is asked to contact the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
