A redrawn election map didn’t translate to significant changes in Saskatoon following Monday’s provincial election.
The Saskatchewan Party took 11 of the 14 Saskatoon-based seats, including Saskatoon Westview, where NDP Leader Cam Broten fell to David Buckingham.
Two new Saskatoon-based constituencies were added with the redrawn map, but the NDP failed to gain ground in the city. The party finished with one less Saskatoon seat than the four won in 2011, while the Sask. Party, which won eight of 12 seats in 2011, upped their total in the city by three.
The Sask. Party won in Saskatoon Churchill-Wildwood, Saskatoon Eastview, Saskatoon Fairview, Saskatoon Meewasin, Saskatoon Northwest, Saskatoon Silverspring-Sutherland, Saskatoon Southeast, Saskatoon Stonebridge-Dakota, Saskatoon University, Saskatoon Westview and Saskatoon Willowgrove.
The NDP won in Saskatoon Centre, Saskatoon Nutana and Saskatoon Riversdale.
