A body has been found about six kilometers from the spot where the car of a missing woman was found submerged in a slough.
RCMP say a volunteer searcher found the remains around 12:30 Saturday afternoon. Police say they haven't been able to identify the body yet. Forensic anthropologist Dr. Ernie Walker from the University of Saskatchewan will help with an autopsy, scheduled for Monday in Saskatoon, where the body has already been taken.
People have been searching the area for weeks, after 40 year old Carol King went missing earlier this month. Police say the volunteer found the remains on a rural property north of Herschel.
Police say the family of Carol King has been notified.
King is originally from Newfoundland, and had been living near Herschel for several years. She had complained to her family about being harassed in the weeks before her disappearance.
