Saskatchewan Green Party Leader Larissa Shasko says she's stepping down as leader and throwing her support behind an NDP candidate.
Shasko, who became leader in 2009, ran in the last two federal elections and provincially in 2007.
Her resignation comes two months before Saskatchewan voters head to the polls Nov. 7.
Shasko says in a news release that she wants a sustainable future for the province, but no longer feels the Green party offers the best way to achieve that.
She says she'll help New Democrat candidate Yens Pedersen, who is running in Regina South.
That will include going door-to-door with Pedersen this fall.
